We want to emphasize that we try to make our summer school as affordable as possible. However, organizing a one-week event comes along with many unexpected costs. In order to have a reserve fund, we need to collect an administrative fee of 20€ per attendee. Since we have a limited amount of seats which are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis, we hope this also to induce a certain liability on your registration. The collected money holds as a backup throughout the event and is planned to be returned at the end.
Attendees are responsible to organize their own accommodation during the entire event. We recommend the black forest hostel which is in walking distance right next to the Dreisam (1.5km) and offers accommodation for < 20€ / night.
Coffee and snacks will be provided in a morning break and during tea time. However, attendees are responsible to organize their own main meals. Warm meals from the mensa are about 10 walking minutes away from the BCF.
IICCSSS is part of the Network of European Neuroscience Schools (NENS) which is generously supported by FENS (Federation of European Neuroscience Societies). In partnership with the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) we are delighted that 4 international master or Ph.D. students residing outside Germany will be awarded a 750€ IBRO-PERC scholarship intended to cover their travel and accommodation costs. If you are eligible, please consider adding your CV and a short motivation statement to your registration. From all stipend applications, the organization committee will shortlist the 6-8 strongest candidates to FENS which selects the fellows.
With immense gratitude, IICCSSS acknowledges the support of the Bernstein Center Freiburg (BCF) for providing the facilities, reinforcing the organizational committee throughout the initial planning phase, many hours of administrative work and financial reimbursement of 3 invited speakers. Our grateful thanks extend to the advisory board for providing invaluable experiences and constant support of the project. Finally, financial support of FENS and IBRO-PERC makes it possible to fund even more external speakers and provide snacks and drinks throughout the event.
